Costume Super Center - Costume Review

Everyone knows how little boys love to dress up! My two boys are no different. When we were given a chance to do a review of a costume we jumped with excitement! has a wonderful selection of boys cartoon costumes in stock. They offer free shipping both ways on all size and costume exchanges.

I let my youngest son pick the costume, he chose Spongebob. What 8 year old boy does not love Spongebob, right!? When the costume arrived I was so said that I had to wait for the bus to come for Noah to try it on. It is a two hour wait from mail time to bus time I was like a child on Christmas morning!! Noah was so excited when he got home and I told him he could try it on right away. He did a happy dance for me and the camera!! He knew that mama was ready for photos for the blog. :) I am very impressed with the quality of this costume, the details are life like.  Noah has slept in this costume a number of times and to my complete amazement the costume still looks great. The shoulders are still standing up like in this photo. We are having a costume ball for New Years Eve. Noah is ready and going as SpongeBob.

For a limited time is offering a discount of 20% with the coupon code NY20.

*This is not a compensated post. We did receive a complimentary costume for review purposes. All opinions expressed are my own. I, personally would recommend to a friend with costume needs.

Posted by Virgil Burks
We looked into clear 4g reviews and ended up upgrading our service. I have learned about this great new website that has really sparked my interest. It is called Miller’s Antiques. I love antiques and often buy, sell, and trade. When people ask me what I collect , I tell them anything and everything old. Of course, I have some of my favorite things like estate jewelry, china, and vintage linens, but I also like a lot of other things. The cool thing about this website is that it has a free huge glossary with thousands of entries. Anything that you want to know about antiques you can find on the sites. Over the last couple of days, I have been making an effort to start reading through it. I haven’t even made it through the “A’s” yet, but I have learned a lot already. I told my parents about the site. The have started using it and like it to. It is really broadening my knowledge base about antiques. I feel like a much more confident collector now!

December in review

It has been a fun filled crazy busy month. But now all of our holiday obligations are over, now it is time to sit at home enjoying the beauty of the season. The boys and I will do a bunch of baking, our gingerbread houses and puzzles.
But this is suppose to be about what we  have already done. Our 4H group sold candy bars at the craft  bazaar.
We had our Sunday school program

We went to Joel's first band concert.

We put up our tree-our family's first real Christmas tree. It is a new tradition that we plan to keep. The smell is just amazing.  They really are having fun. We were 'trying' to encourage a natural look instead of the forced smiles that appear very often in our photos.

We also had a bit of mischievousness

that is what is happening here in a nut shell.

Book Blog Tour: Silver Smoke Written by Author Monica Leonelle

To celebrate the release of a new novel to the Seven Halos series, author Monica Leonelle is doing a Kindle Fire giveaway for Silver Smoke, the first novel in the series! Silver Smoke is the highly-rated (4.8 stars on Amazon) debut novel about the Hallows and the Nephilim, the descendants of archangels and humans. Here's a description of the book:

Brie van Rossum has fame, fortune, and beauty, but there’s one thing she doesn’t have–the name of her mother’s supernatural killer.
The Hallows, descendants of the archangels, don’t think Milena was murdered.. but can Brie trust them when their government, the New Order, wants her dead?
She’d better figure it all out soon…
… because when Brie finds out who she really is, the hunt will begin.
And Milena might not be the only casualty.
Like mother, like daughter…

We'll get to the contest details in a minute, but first, Monica gave us an exclusive excerpt of the book for the blog tour:
Brie ran down the stairs to the lower deck and sat at the edge, holding onto the railing. Pilot wasn’t around, so she had the deck to herself. She was desperate to feel something, anything. She hurdled over the flimsy railing and sat at the edge of the boat, facing the water.

A slight panic built in her chest. She knew she could fall at any minute, but it wasn’t enough. Brie kicked off her Dolce Vita thong sandals into the ocean, watching them drift away. She wanted to disappear with them.

She focused on the single square foot beneath her feet, reliving everything James’ had said to her. The whole story was the opposite of what she had seen of James her entire life. A James that was open and honest? It was unbelievable.

Brie let go of the railing slowly, balancing delicately on her toes. Her body ached, but Brie couldn’t tell if it was because she was scared or because she was just now learning about all the things Milena had taken from her. She could have had a father growing up. She could have a father somewhere out there that she’d never met. Either way, it was another loss, like losing a parent all over again.

Brie stared at the sky dotted with stars, pretending she was floating above water. The boat churned underneath her, and then it hit her—wooziness.

She felt her toes slipping and reached for the railing, but she was already falling. She screamed, but no one came to her rescue; her hollow voice was swallowed by the waves rushing underneath her. The jarring impact with the ocean knocked the wind out of her, and the sky, water, and boat faded as she submerged into blackness.

Simply Potatoes Review

Southwest Style Hash Browns

Simply Potatoes Southwest Style Hash Browns

Wake up your taste buds with the bold, robust flavor of Southwestern Style. Like our Simply Potatoes Shredded Hash Browns, our Simply Potatoes Southwest Style Hash Browns start with fresh, never frozen potatoes. The bold southwest flavors of onion, green and red peppers, jalapeƱos, and spices deliver just the right amount of heat to wake up your taste buds.
Product review: OMG! They were so good! I live in the semi tundra section of the USA and we enjoy our comfort foods and potatos are nearly the top of my favorite comfort food list! The Simply Potatoes are fresh and not frozen, and so simple to cook. I sprayed a frying pan to heat it up and then just dumped the Simply Potatoes in the pan and fried until golden brown. Paired up with an egg and slice of toast it was a great breakfast after Sunday worship. The bag of Simply Potatoes was just the prefect size for our family. No left overs or wasted food.

iRenew Wellness Bracelet Review

I was generously sent two iRenew bracelets, in two different styles. One is the orange  iRenew Sport Bracelet. The other is the black with silver clasp and logo on it.

iRenew bracelets are infused with Selective Frequency Resonance technology which makes them different from every other wristband on the market. The bracelets are made using Selective Frequency Resonance ™ technology. IRenew products may promote balance, endurance and strength when worn. Unlike other companies out there, iRenew doesn’t use magnets and extra metal that is uncomfortable while working out and playing sports.
iRenew Bracelets Are Waterproof And Comfortable Unlike Other Wristbands
iRenew bracelets are made with a 100% silicone band and durable stainless steel clasp. iRenew bracelets can get wet and be worn anywhere. iRenew bracelets are available with a black or white iRenew band and the stainless steel clasp makes the bracelet elegant enough for any attire or event. iRenew bracelets are comfortable, not heavy like other wristbands either, so iRenew bracelets won't slow you down.

My review: I hate to say that I was very skeptical about this product, so I was very interested in putting it to the test. I have to admit I do like the bracelets!! I did not even share the two I recieved with my darling husband. I am keeping them BOTH for me. The black bracelet is sleek and fashionable. It matches every out fit I have, from simple jeans with boots or the little black dress worn to all the holiday parties. The orange Sports Bracelet is just sassy and funky enough to be cute and inspiring when I am sweating like a pig during my workouts to keep me going.

I have noticed that my mental checklists are easier to remember while wearing this product. I also have not taken one slip and fall on the ice yet this winter. I usually have fallen and bruised my large .........ego by this  time of year. I am not sure that that is due to this bracelet or not but I am going to keep wearing mine.

Disclaimer: I was sent two iRenew bracelets to do this review. All opinions are 100% my own.

Getting my Act Together

I am a person that can get distracted and side tracked very easily. I can also be lured by being lazy or sneaking in more sleep then I really need. So, this post is about getting my act together-my house, my life, my family and mostly me back on track to accomplish the most out of every single day. I have been thinking about a few small daily goals, and if I accomplish them on all or most days what great progress would be made at the end of each week.

So here is my list of daily goals, with a bit of explaination with some of them.

1. walk/exercise at least 20 minutes.
2. clean/work on my part time job.
3. cook something-whether it is our big meal of the day, remaking leftovers, batch cooking or working on         goodies for gift baskets for the holidays or birthdays.
4. clean/organize at home for at least 20 minutes.
5. work on basement a little bit.
6. plan for 20 minutes-if it is budgeting, or meal planning, trip planning, you get the idea.
7. read God's word for at least 20 minutes.
8. blog or work on blog materials.
9. laundry.
10. Study. I am taking courses to become a medical transcriptionist.

there is my list, so far today I am doing pretty well.
How do you keep yourself on track? Do you have a goal list?

Tanner's Tasty Paste Review and Giveaway

Well, we all know that getting kids to brush their teeth two times a day can be anything but a day at the beach. The strong taste of ordinary toothpaste can have even the best of us running to hide under our covers!

With Dr. Janelle Holden's new Banilla Bling, brushing your teeth is as fun as eating a vanilla ice cream cone! Banilla Bling packs the sweet flavor of vanilla ice cream into a healthy fluoride toothpaste which contains no Saccharin or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Kids absolutely love the taste and parents love dentist approved cavity fighting. ALL TANNER'S TASTY PASTE TOOTHPASTES CONTAIN A 15% XYLITOL SOLUTION!

I was sent the three flavors Tanner's Tasty Paste in return for my honest opinion of the product. The first one my family and I tried was the Banilla Bling Vanilla Ice Cream Flavor, we were all in agreement that tooth paste is  where Vanilla Ice Cream Flavor belonged. We all loved it!

The next flavor we tried was the Baby Bling Vanilla Ice Cream that is safe to swallow. It was very tastey also! Lastly we tried the Cha Cha Chocolate Ice Cream Flavor, and of course it was just to die for. Who thought tooth paste with all natural ingredents could be so yummy and a treat for kids to brush their teeth.
Would I recommend it to a friend, truth be told, I already have.

Buy it at for  $6 a tube.

Win it here. Tanner's Tastey Toothpaste is going to send one (1) of my lucky readers a complete set of their toothpastes. U.S resident only. Giveaway will end at 11:59 EST, on December 2.

Burt's Bees Review and Giveaway

Tips and Toes Kit

Fingers and toes need a little love? This amazing collection of rich creams and softening butters will do the trick. Seriously softening and happily hydrating. Your fingers and toes will thank you.
• Softens skin with butters and rich creams
  • Almond Milk Hand Creme (0.25 oz)
  • Hand Salve (0.3 oz)
  • Thoroughly Therapeutic Honey & Grapeseed Hand Creme (0.75 oz)
  • Coconut Foot Creme (0.75 oz)
  • Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream (0.3 oz)
  • Replenishing Lip Balm (0.15 oz)

Before this review, I had heard of Burt's Bees products but never tried them.  Now I am wondering why. I received this little package of various products to try. I am in love. Joel keeps the lip balm in his back pack, during the fall and winter he gets really dry lips. The lip balm has prevented him from getting really dry chapped lips.
I used the hand salve and hand lotion. I work in a kitchen baking and cooking, so my hands are continually in and out of dish water. I get dry hands and these products soothed my dry scaly hand instantly and made them feel nice and soft.

I would recommend this to everyone! I am thinking of purchasing additional  Burt's Bees product for stocking stuffers aslo generic gifts for teachers, Sunday school teachers and bus drivers.
Buy it:

Keeping a Happy Marriage

Marriage is hard work, but it should be fun at times also, Dave and I try to have a 'date night' occasionally. We have had to keep our minds open to different types of dates. Sometimes we are lucky to have my parents babysit and we can go out to dinner. Or we have the boys eat in front of the TV in the living room while we watch a movie for a more adult audience in the bedroom with finger foods for dinner.

I am in the planning stage of our next date night and doing so within a small budget. When I purchase items I want to be sure that we both enjoy it and it is reusable. I am planning to do a video on demand from Netflix. We are going to watch a movie in the bedroom with the lights off and a candle lit. I might purchase this candle. Amorous massage candle – massage candle
I have always enjoyed candles and always relax with a new scent in the air. And it is a massage candle, we can help each other relax.

I like to explore different websites on line, I often find things you would not expect to find on certain website. the adult toy store is one of those sights. I love searching through their collection of candles.  I love the fragrance of orchids.

Puppies vs. Babies! The Ultimate Showdown!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Puppies vs. Babies for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Babies vs. Puppies.
Yes it is true we all gush over cute cuddly babies, whether it is human or dog babies. The age old question is about to finally be answered on the website:      Puppies vs. Babies online contest

I strongly urge all my readers to go put your vote in the contest. Let your voice be heard!!

Human babies- got my vote for sure! People plant a seed and wait for 9 months thinking about every details of their baby: boy or girl; brown eyes or blue; 10 fingers and toes. Just the perfect name. We fretted long and hard over the names we chose the entire nine months then the wait was over. Labor and delivery pain agony then you finally get to met that special baby. My most favorite memories are seeing my sweet babies smiling in photos. Photo after photo-my vote goes to the babies!

Look at this photo of my baby niece, tell me any puppy is cuter then this!

Dog babies-puppies The come into the world so little and eyes closed so cute and stinky! They can’t see and bare as in no hair little rat looking things.

Ok, so both babies and puppies are cute. But really who can say a dog is cuter then a baby!?

Please go to:

Puppies vs. Babies online contest and vote, then come back here to plead your case in the comment area.

Konsyl review and Giveaway

We’ve all heard about the digestive and other health benefits of having enough fiber, but in addition to helping promote regularity and good digestive health  adequate soluble fiber intake offers an abundance of health benefits, ranging from a reduced risk of heart disease by lowering cholesterol, to reducing blood sugar absorption, thereby assisting in the management of Type-2 Diabetes. Fiber can also aid in weight loss by making you feel fuller longer.

Psyllium fiber, such as the fiber found in Konsyl Fiber Supplements, is a bulk-forming soluble fiber derived from the outer coating, or "husk" of the psyllium plant's seeds. Because psyllium does not come from wheat it is therefore gluten free and safe for celiac patients. Konsyl products are also safe for pregnant and nursing women. Just one serving of Konsyl Original Formula 450g provides 6 grams of psyllium fiber (equal to 3 grams of soluble fiber), 75% more than the leading brands.

How do we know if we are actually getting the recommended daily fiber intake? The American Dietetic Association recommends getting between 25-38 grams of fiber each day.  Konsyl Psyllium Fiber Supplements, along with a healthy diet that includes plenty of fiber rich foods, will help you achieve your daily fiber goal.
  • 38 grams for men under the age of 50 to 21 years of age
  • 30 grams for men over 50 years of age
  • 25 grams for women under the age of 50 to 21 years of age
  • 21 grams for women over 50 years of age

Many of Konsyl Fiber products are sugar and gluten free and are all natural. The full Konsyl Fiber Supplement line is:

  • Safe for celiac patients, diabetics and pregnant and nursing mothers
  • Available in powder, capsule and single-serve packets

Confession of a food hoarder-joking!

OK, many of my online friends have heard me say this before and again it is true - "I have so much food in this house it is nuts!" But what is different THIS time, I am going to post photos of the goods before and after a challenge! So from this day forward the challenge to myself is NOT purchasing ANY food goods, HHGs or pet supplies until we really, really need them. Except Thanksgiving dinner things, ie, I have no turkey or potatoes. The beginning of this challenge is RIGHT now. and the end is the 10th of December, that way I can still do some shopping for holiday baking and gifts.

Before photos:
a sideways view of my messy pantry!

A view of my downstairs storage area.

my baking and spice storage area.

sideways view of the messy fridge.

messy overstuffed over the fridge freezer.

the wood pile that is in the house so far, more will be added to this one.

our deep freeze.

Ok, I will be purchasing fresh produce and dairy items but using down the supply of food that we do have here as much as possible.

IF you want to do a similar type of challenge please feel free to comment with a link to your photo posts or root me on.

Saturday Business

Even though yesterday was a day of leisure, I had a lot to do. It is time for the church's annual pie social. I made pistachio cheesecake, chocolate cheesecake and a banana cream cheesecake.

Fool proof Cheesecake(If I can do it,you can!)
1 graham pie crust
1 cool whip
8oz cream cheese(softened)
1 small box jello
1 splash of cold milk

In mixing bowl mix everything but pie crust, mix until it looks pretty smooth. Dump into pie crust. Chill until firm. Enjoy!

After making 3 pies, we headed to a nearby bigger city to enjoy water, warm water.

While the boys enjoyed the pool, I enjoyed the hot tub and sauna.

Then we headed to Perkins for dinner. Kids eat free on Saturday nights. After a nice dinner we went to MooseWood for a walk through the haunted bog.

It was very fun, the boys did jump out of their skins once or twice. What a nice day.
